Martial artists, monks, and seekers of esoteric knowledge: Adepts of the Phoenix are the rarest form of Adept, using their internal energy to effect external change. The Discipline of the Phoenix offers lines in Way of the Phoenix, Evocation, Soulforging, and Restoration. Because the Phoenix Discipline is so rare, taught from master to student, a Storyteller must approve it before it may be taken either at Character Creation or through spending GXP. Unlike most Adept Disciplines, Adepts of the Phoenix rely on the Soulforging Skill for many of their abilities. Additionally many of the Phoenix Discipline lines impact each other in synergistic ways. The students of this Discipline are encouraged to learn every ability for maximum effectiveness, but at its heart is the Fighting Style: Way of the Phoenix. Unlike other Fighting Styles, these abilities are only learned through this Discipline. The Discipline of the Phoenix is most closely associated with Ojo Kusanagi, the legendary warrior monk whose soul burned so brightly that no blade or spell could touch her. Her rise from obscurity to ruler of Koolong is echoed in every Adept who follows this path: a journey of inner mastery, radiant transformation, and peace through fire. Adepts of the Phoenix may choose prowess in Infuse, Healing, and Charm.
