Reykin are vulpine Outsiders native to Arcadia, closely related to the wandering Greykin of the Outer Wilds. Unlike their solitary cousins, Reykin gather into small, close-knit communities scattered throughout Arcadia, though individuals frequently venture beyond them as merchants, tricksters, spies, and opportunists. They are cunning shapeshifters with a particular fondness for bargains, enchanted goods, and exploiting the desires of the unwary; a Reykin may offer exactly what someone wants while carefully neglecting to explain what accepting it will ultimately cost.

Generations of exposure to Arcadia—and particularly the influence of the Realm of Darkness, domain of the Unseelie Fae—have altered the magic of the Reykin considerably from their Greykin ancestors. Reykin magic specializes in manipulation and transformation, allowing them to conceal their nature and influence others. Though their reputation for deceit is well earned, Reykin are not universally malicious; nevertheless, their culture prizes cleverness, favors, and ruthlessness. Dealing with one without considering exactly what has been promised is rarely wise.
