Effect

Passive: You always sense when an object, person, or surface within 10 yards is enchanted (even through illusions or magical concealment).

  • You gain +2 Successes on any successful Disable Device, Pick Lock, or Sleight of Hand check against magical traps, locks, wards, or glyphs.
  • If you touch a magical effect affecting a creature (e.g., a buff spell or persistent aura), you may identify its function with a Perception or Knowledge (Magic) + Snake Rank roll vs. the effect’s Rank +2.

On a success, you also learn whether the enchantment has any weaknesses, conditional triggers, or durations remaining.

Active: Once per encounter, you may attempt to disassemble a magical enchantment from the inside out. Choose one magical effect within 10 yards:

  • An enchanted item
  • A magical trap or glyph
  • An ongoing spell or aura affecting a creature

Roll Dexterity or Intelligence + Disable Device or Sleight of Hand + Snake Rank vs. the enchantment’s Potency (Rank + 2).

  • On success: The effect is dispelled or disabled as if by Dispel Magic.
  • On 3+ Successes: You may choose to suppress the effect for 1 minute instead of destroying it.
  • On failure: The effect resists tampering and you cannot attempt again on the same target this scene.

If you used Arcane Sense within the last 10 minutes on this enchantment, you gain +2 Successes on this roll and may use this ability as a Fast Action.
