Unarmed Combat represents the ability to fight and deal damage with bare hands/feet/elbows/claws/teeth. This skill is broken up into Striking, Grappling or Natural Weapons, and every purchase of this skill must apply to these subtypes, and each subtype ranks up separately. Regardless of which form of Unarmed Combat is selected, an attacker must have both hands empty when attacking (i.e., they may not carry a shield or wield a weapon in one hand while making an Unarmed attack). This is the case even when other limbs (e.g. feet) as the method of attack.

On unarmed combat attacks, your skill in the subtype is added to the applicable statistic and base damage to determine the dice pool.

Subtype Base Effect
Striking Str/Dex + Unarmed Combat + 2d10 (Non-Lethal Damage)
Grappling Str/Dex + Unarmed Combat Opposed Roll vs. Target's Unarmed Combat OR Escape Artist (whichever is higher).
  • An attacker is unable to attempt grapples with targets 2 or more size categories larger than themselves.
  • If successful, the target is Grappled.
  • An attacker who has successfully grappled a target may use a Standard Action on subsequent turns to Squeeze their target. This results in an opposed roll vs. the target's Unarmed Combat or Escape Artist, whichever is higher. Any successes above the target's roll are dealt as Non-Lethal damage.
Natural Weapons Str/Dex + Unarmed Combat + Natural Weapon base damage (e.g. 2d10 lethal damage +1 Armor Piercing)
  • Learning Unarmed Combat (Natural Weapons) requires you to have natural weapons.
