| Effect | Caster imbues their weapon with a softly glowing nimbus of power that drains struck targets. The glow is visible without magical sight but is not bright enough to illuminate surroundings. The caster may decide when the spell is cast if the weapon will drain either Health (Leech Life) or Mana (Leech Mana). The caster decides which when the spell is cast. With each successful melee attack, the target must attempt a Magic Resistance roll against a Willpower + Sorcery + Seed: Drain Rank. If they fail, they lose 1 point of Health, or 1 point of Mana, and the caster gains the amount lost. A target may only be drained in this manner once per round. Leech Life variant may not be used on Undead or Constructs, as they do not have life energy to drain. Each variant may be applied to a separate weapon with a separate cast to a maximum of two weapons (one for Leech Life and one for Leech Mana) but this spell may not be applied to allies weapons or to the same weapon. Weapons already enchanted with a Leech Life or Leech Mana effect may not be further affected by Leech Blade.
Example: Malatar conjures his Stygian greatsword with Leech Life. During a battle he makes a Sweeping Strike which hits three guards. Each guard must resist the leech, or Malatar heals 3 lethal damage, and the guards each take 1 damage in addition to the attack. |
