Effect While active, the caster gains complete control of nearby liquid. More powerful than Influence Water, this spell affects any and all free liquid* within the spell's area of effect simultaneously, rather than a limited volume, and allows it to be manipulated in each of the following ways as a Move Action while the spell remains active:
  • Hydrokinesis: The caster may manipulate liquid into desired patterns, sculptures, or structures; OR compress the liquid under her control, enabling it to lift up or draw submerged items up to 30lb x Rank in weight toward her with precision, even from awkward angles or confined spaces.
  • Regulate Temperature: The caster may manipulate the temperature of liquid under her control, raising or lowering it by approximately Rank x 10 degrees Celsius per Move Action. The water will naturally return to its previous temperature after it leaves the area of effect. Rapid or extreme temperature shifts (freezing, boiling) may require multiple actions or sustained focus at Storyteller discretion.
  • Visibility Control: Clear visibility by sweeping particulate, silt, or blood from the surrounding area; OR obscure vision by churning the water into a dense cloud that provides the mage with Light to Moderate Cover from ranged attacks. While visibility is obscured in this way, the caster suffers a penalty to vision-based Perception checks equal to the granted Cover modifier.
  • Vector Displacement: The caster may push or pull water within the field, drawing it toward or away from themselves in controlled motion. While submerged, this allows the caster to propel themselves in any direction by expelling water in the opposite vector, achieving smooth or rapid movement without swimming. The Movement allowed by this spell is equal to 10 plus the mage's Rank in Water Magic. It does not provoke swimming-related penalties, and functions as controlled propulsion rather than physical locomotion.

*Liquid that is not combined with anything else, i.e. water within creatures' bodies or trapped within clay is not affected by this spell. Frozen water/ice is considered free liquid for the purposes of this spell.'
