Required Spider Discipline 4
Range 5 yards
Target Area 2-yard radius
Duration 2 rounds x Rank
Action Standard
Cost 3 Mana
Effect You quickly deploy a field of translucent, supernaturally tense strands of wire, anchoring them to the surrounding terrain. These strands are invisible to the untrained eye, but sensitive to motion and pressure. Only one such field may be deployed at a time. When targets move into the area, the Adept rolls 5d10 + Spider Discipline Rank vs. each target’s Unarmed Combat or Escape Artist. On a failure, the target becomes Grappled. Each target may attempt to escape at the start of their turn with an opposed roll. If Tremorsense is active, the Spider Adept is immediately aware of any creature within the web area and perceive them perfectly, even if they are invisible. The Adept is immune to the grappling effects of the Binding Web; however they treat the area as Difficult Terrain.

The web may be burned, slashed, or destroyed with magic however single target attacks such as slashes will only clear a 1-yard square (sufficient to free a trapped target). If that target continues moving through the Binding Web, they may be stuck again in the undamaged areas of the field. Each square has the following stats:

  • HP: 2 + Spider Rank
  • Defense: 3 (Hardness)
