The City of Masks is named such for the elaborate masks used in social situations to affiliate with a particular deity and show off artwork and wealth. Even commoners wear basic masks for daily functions. There is no traditional nobility as such in Suriloth, instead the upper class are defined by their rank in the temples and their homes are defined by their proximity to the temples. The temple orders are deeply corrupt however, and many of the temples are filled with those who appreciate the status quo and the ability to become rich and powerful, rather than genuine service. These temple members will use this opportunity for self gain and nothing else.

Suriloth is a 10-spoke design, with a central island with a large structure (the oldest in Suriloth) known as the Quorum, the original meeting place of the Blessed Gods on the mortal plane. Each of the gods have a spoke or wing originally formulated when the Gods resided in Suriloth ...the old city the ruins of which this city was built upon. The mortals would gather in congregations near their deity. This has persisted since that day. The wing originally dedicated to followers of Kao has fallen into disrepair and become a black market slum district with the poor and unaffiliated. Rumors swirl that the Cult of Kao has resurged in the city and they lurk among the black market.

The city is oriented with temples on each point starting from 1 going clockwise: Alkaizer, Septimus, Khitar, Nimway, Thysis, Su-Lan, Kao (empty), Thalu, Kravnos, Kronos
